Trinity River Rafting Trip Information


Meeting Time and Place

Where: Pigeon Point Campground
When: 9:30 a.m.
Take-out Time: 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Traveling west on Highway 299 from Redding, Weaverville is about 50 miles. Continue west for another 11 miles. Go over the North Fork of the Trinity river bridge. Pigeon Point is right after the bridge on your left.

Driving time: 2 1/2 hours from Mt Shasta, 1 1/4 hours from Redding, 4 1/4 hours from San Francisco.

What To Bring

Definitely Bring:

  • Clothes/swimsuits to get wet in, dry clothes for the take-out.
  • Water bottles filled with water.
  • Shoes or sandals that will stay on.
  • For cooler days, synthetic undergarments, fleece top, windbreaker.
  • Sun hat, sunblock, sunglasses w/ straps/croakies.

Optional

  • Phone/camera with water proof pouch.
  • Some extra cash if you want to tip your guides. They appreciate it!

What We Bring

  • Coast Guard approved life jackets and helmets
  • Wetsuits and paddle jackets when needed
  • Dry bags for your personal gear
  • Deli-style lunch for full day trips
  • First Aid
  • River Rescue Equipment
  • Extra Drinking Water

Safety

Your safety and comfort are our utmost concern. Our guides are mature, skilled professionals, certified in first aid and CPR. All trips are equipped with first aid kits and river rescue equipment. Safety procedures will be explained in detail prior to and during the trip. Because of the inherent risks involved with any outdoor activity, we are required to have you sign an acknowledgment of risk and release of liability before your trip.

Inflatable Kayaks

Our self-bailing inflatable kayaks are one-person rafts, very stable, easy to paddle and immense fun. At safe water levels, we bring a few to share on our class II and III runs.

Purchasing Gear

Tipping

If you feel your guide did an outstanding job, a tip is a great way to show your appreciation.
